Kristopher Wright is a senior leader in the Consumer Products Industry with over 30 years of innovative, growth-oriented, results-driven leadership experience. Through a proven track record of building successful brands, teams and organizations – Kris has served in successive leadership positions within global brands such as Jordan, Nike, Converse, and Reebok where he has an established history as a Global Cultural Connector and Innovative Business Strategist who leads and empowers teams to execute against key enterprise priorities through halo effect performance.
Kris Wright is Vice President of Nike Sportswear Global Footwear, where he leads the end-to-end product strategy, creation, and commercialization for one of Nike’s largest and most influential footwear portfolios. In this role, Kris oversees a global, cross-functional organization spanning product management, design, innovation, merchandising, and operations, driving growth across Icons, Modern, and Energy expressions within Nike Sportswear. He is responsible for setting long-range product vision and portfolio strategy, translating consumer and cultural insights into commercially successful footwear, and ensuring operational excellence at scale. Kris’s leadership focuses on building future-ready product engines, strengthening marketplace relevance, and delivering culturally resonant innovation that fuels sustainable, long-term growth for the Nike brand. In October of 2020, Kris was recognized by Business Insider as one of 28 Outstanding People of Color in the Sneaker Industry.
Before Jordan and Nike, Kris founded the luxury lifestyle footwear brand Jhung Yuro. As CEO, Kris led the company’s Far East factory/supplier sourcing and negotiations, developed marketing initiatives, established distribution and merchandising strategies for a wide variety of retail partners. In 2008 Headgear Inc purchased a 50% stake in Jhung Yuro to launch a joint venture partnership which provided infrastructure and resources to grow the brand.
Additionally, Kris is an appointed member of the Executive Leadership Council, a national organization of Black CEOs and senior executives in Fortune 1000 and Global 500 companies. In May 2021 Kris was named to the Board of Directors for LiveOne, Inc. (NASDAQ: LVO). Kris also serves on the Advisory Board of Directors for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), where his deep expertise and broad experience in leadership, strategy and marketing serves to advise the SWAC Commissioner on brand building and activation – in addition to business growth and financial optimization.
Kris is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing and Business Administration. Motivated by intellectual challenge and curiosity, Kris expanded his formal education with the admission and completion of the highly selective Harvard Business School, High Potentials Leadership Program.
